SSL secures access to Corporate FTP and WebDAV servers, or SFTP can be used. Use WebDrive as a replacement for slow, inefficient file access through VPNs. VPN connections are also extremely slow - especially for database files, slide presentations and videos. Your IT support team may spend significant time assisting remote users. Setting up a VPN can be quite complex- something that an individual remote user probably can't do on their own. VPNs can be challenging and time consuming to manage, particularly if you have numerous remote employees. And WebDrive’s instantly familiar interface lets you seamlessly work with cloud storage and corporate SFTP and WebDAV servers right from your desktop. With the ability to embed the registration code, pre-set the connections that your users need and even run automated installs, large implementation could not be easier. To some extent I wonder whether this is not an issue from iCal (not really being intended a collaborative, group calendar application) The only issue with WebCalendar is that contrary to PHPiCalendar, it won't digest iCal publishings automatically (it has a nice GUI to transfer iCal files manually, so that's OK for displacing an iCal calendar, but not at all for daily updates) Very nifty PHP code :-)īTW, if you need "more" than just publishing a number of calendars from ical, you then have WebCalendar that will allow you to edit right on the server from anywhere, and you still can subscribe to it from iCal afterwards. I strongly support PHPiCalendar, and it should be underlined that once installed on your ISP or own server, it will "look like" a webdav server to iCal, while *not* requiring webdav in any way. If you need more help, check out my detailed instructions. Shameless plug: I've written more detailed and illustrated instructions on my blog, but thought this might have wide enough appeal to share here. I use this to sync my Home and Work calendars.
